A shared cultural future for Ipswich
Ipswich’s ten-year Culture & Heritage Strategy sets out a shared vision for how culture and heritage can shape the town’s future, enrich everyday life and create opportunities for everyone.
Led by We Are Ipswich on behalf of the town, the strategy was developed through consultation with communities, artists, freelancers, cultural organisations and partners across Ipswich and beyond.
It was funded and supported by Arts Council England, Ipswich Borough Council, Ipswich Central, New Wolsey Theatre on behalf of We Are Ipswich, and Suffolk County Council.
At its heart is a vision for Ipswich to be a confident, creative and outward-looking town, where culture and heritage strengthen opportunity, belonging and civic identity.
The strategy provides a shared framework for action over the next decade. It connects and builds on what is already happening, encourages new partnerships and strengthens the contribution culture and heritage make to our communities, economy, wellbeing and regeneration.
It belongs to the whole town. Organisations and public bodies, artists and freelancers, volunteers, young people, communities and businesses all have a part to play in bringing it to life and shaping Ipswich’s cultural future.
