Looking for a place where you can be yourself, meet inspiring people, and make theatre that feels like you?

Applications are still open for New Wolsey Young Company, Youth Theatre 1 (School Years 3 & 4), as well as our Youth Theatre Plus and Youth Theatre Squared groups for neurodivergent and disabled young people — and we’d love to hear from you.

Led by our Creative Communities team and professional theatre artists, Youth Theatre is a relaxed, supportive and welcoming environment where young people can build confidence, develop creative skills, and feel a true sense of belonging.

For many of our members, Youth Theatre becomes much more than a weekly session. It’s a safe, encouraging and non-judgemental space between home and school where young people feel accepted, heard and inspired. It’s a place to laugh, be creative, try new things, and connect with passionate leaders and talented young people who support one another both on stage and beyond.

We run weekly term-time sessions for young people aged 7–25, where you can:

✨ Explore acting, movement and performance
✨ Build confidence and develop theatre-making skills
✨ Take part in exciting creative projects
✨ Share ideas and create collaboratively
✨ Be part of a supportive creative community

💬 Who can join?

We want Youth Theatre to be open, welcoming and accessible to everyone. We particularly encourage applications from young people from:

• Global Majority communities
• Deaf and disabled communities
• Neurodivergent communities
• LGBTQIA+ communities
• Lower socio-economic backgrounds

Most importantly, you don’t need any previous experience — not even school drama. Just bring yourself, your ideas, and a willingness to get involved. If you’re curious, we’d love to discover what you can bring to our creative community.
