Welcome to Serene - New Wolsey Theatre

Welcome to Serene

Performed from Fri 30 — Sat 31 Aug

The artwork for 'Welcome to Serene,' which is a drawing of a beach, with a house high up on a raised platform, which has a winding slide that goes all the way down to the sand. At the top, in the centre, white text reads 'British Youth Music Theatre Presents Welcome to Serene.' Popping out of the sand below are many mechanical claws as well as two red and white striped beach chairs with a parasol.

The stakes are high, the songs are unforgettable, and nothing is quite what it seems.

Sand never stops falling in Serene, threatening to bury the town under endless dunes. The Machine, the town's last hope, tirelessly works to keep the waves of sand at bay. But not all is at it seems… as tides rise and mysteries deepen, Serene faces its biggest challenge yet. Will The Machine be enough to save the day, or is there more to this town than meets the eye?

Brand-new Dr. Seuss and Tim Burton-inspired musical 'Welcome to Serene' is brought to life by the next generation of musical theatre talent from British Youth Music Theatre, the leading Youth Music Theatre organisation whose alumni include the likes of Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.

Discover the quirky charm of a small coastal town full of zany inhabitants. Welcome to Serene.
