Join award winning writer, editor and journalist Katherine Quarmby as she talks about her debut fiction title The Low Road, an historical fiction title, telling the stories of poor women from rural areas, the imprisoned, the convicts sent to penal colonies, and the people who often left no records because of illiteracy and hardship.
Katharine also writes on environmental injustice, racism, disability rights, the care system, violence and hate crime and is a Royal Literary Fellow at the University of West London. The Low Road has also been shortlisted for the 2025 New Angle Prize.
