New Wolsey Theatre and Wiltshire Creative are looking for a Company Stage Manager (CSM) and an Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) for their co-production of Don’t Look Now this autumn.
Don’t Look Now will be directed by Douglas Rintoul and is an adaptation by Nell Leyshon of the Daphne du Maurier short story thriller: https://www.wolseytheatre.co.uk/events/dont-look-now/
Rehearsals will take place in central Ipswich and performances will run at New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich before transferring to Salisbury Playhouse.
The New Wolsey Theatre was nominated as Theatre of the Year in the 2025 Stage Management Association awards, and has a national reputation for work in access and inclusion. We have a huge impact on the public and cultural life of Ipswich and beyond. Our 400-seater midscale auditorium is perfectly formed being both epic and intimate, as such it delivers the most impactful, exhilarating, and stimulating of shows – there’s not a bad seat in the house.

Rehearsals (Ipswich): Monday 15th September 2025 to Saturday 4th October 2025
Tech Week (Ipswich): Monday 6th October 2025 to Thursday 9th October 2025
Performances (Ipswich): Thursday 9th October 2025 to Saturday 25th October 2025
Transfer to Salisbury Playhouse: Monday 27th October 2025 to Wednesday 29th October 2025
Performances (Salisbury): Wednesday 29th October 2025 to Saturday 15th November 2025
Rate
CSM: £608 per week (Equity Subsidised Rep Grade 2) based on a 43 hour week from Monday to Saturday inclusive. Overtime, holiday, pension, and extra performances will be paid as per the UK Theatre/Equity agreement.
ASM: £548 per week (Equity Subsidised Rep Grade 2) based on a 43 hour week from Monday to Saturday inclusive. Overtime, holiday, pension, and extra performances will be paid as per the UK Theatre/Equity agreement.
Subsistence
If you reside 25 miles or further away from the workplace during rehearsals and performances at New Wolsey Theatre, you will receive a subsistence allowance of £235 per week as per your contract.
If you reside 25 miles or further away from the venue during performances at Salisbury Playhouse, you will receive a touring allowance of £300 per week as per your contract.
If you reside 15-25 miles from the workplace/venue, during rehearsals and performances at New Wolsey Ipswich and/or Salisbury Playhouse, you will receive a weekly travel allowance.
Travel from your home address to the workplace at the start/end of the contract and between the New Wolsey Theatre and Salisbury Playhouse upon transfer will be covered.
About you
Experience of working at mid-scale is essential. Experience of regional touring is desirable.
