Wardrobe Supervisor Margaret Lock chats to us about everything she does within her role, in a side of theatre you don’t hear so much about!

We talk about how her career started, and how it’s grown over the years, but also about how there are some people from the very start who she still works with now.

She speaks about the whole process of creating a costume, from the conception of an idea, to designing, to sourcing all of the materials and then finally putting it all together. Internet shopping has become the norm in modern times, but it definitely doesn’t help when buying fabrics!

We chatted about work she’s recently been doing, including one huge event this year, as well as what’s coming up for her in the rest of the year, such as Trio and Goldilocks and the Three Bears  here with us at the New Wolsey.

Listen out too for the one piece of costume that Margaret loves doing so much that she can never delegate to someone else!

A huge thank you to Margaret for making this podcast with us, we had such a great time recording and learning more about the huge role herself and others in her field have when making theatre.
