A Salisbury Playhouse, New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich and Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch Production

Rachel and Scott are getting married. They are also buying a house together. But when the house price goes up, their plans for a dream wedding may have to be downsized.

Rachel’s mother, however, has other ideas. What if the family could join forces and make it a wedding to be proud of? With a marquee in the back garden, the pub band and two fully-functioning portable loos, surely the day will pass without a hitch?

This laugh-out-loud comedy about preparations for a family wedding was a huge hit when it premiered at Salisbury Playhouse in 2014. Now you have a chance to enjoy one of the biggest new comedies in years.

Chris Chibnall is the creator of ITV’s Broadchurch and from 2018 will be Head Writer and Executive Producer of BBC TV’s Doctor Who.

Please note that this production contains some strong language.

Congratulations to all the cast and behind the scenes. It was an absolutely fantastically funny, touching, well written and exceptionally well acted out. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and so nice to have such a quality performance on our doorstep. Very clever use of space. Great musicians too which was unexpected but enjoyed all the same.
