The Parson’s Pirates - New Wolsey Theatre

The Parson’s Pirates

Performed on Tue 10 Sep

The artwork for 'The Parson's Pirates.' A person wearing a blonde wig leans down to a man who is trying to lean far away from the other person, avoiding their kiss. They are dressed in pirates clothing. The show title is at the top, in the centre.

The vicar of St Michael's Under Ware is promising an evening of naughty-cal adventure as he attempts to stage the ever popular operetta 'The Pirates of Penzance' in the village hall.

With the help of his trusty churchwardens, Mr Prickett and Mr Prendergast, he auditions and assembles a motley crew of eager (and not so eager) performers - what transpires is a not-to-be forgotten performance full of trademark Opera della Luna humour and absurdity!

Opera della Luna celebrates the company’s 30th anniversary by returning to Ipswich with their hilarious take on Gilbert & Sullivan’s classic, The Pirates of Penzance.

This hilarious and ingenious production was their first big success and gained the company national recognition. Over the years, this show has played in over 200 venues in all parts of the UK and Ireland.

Presented by Opera della Luna.
