Suffolk Soul Singers, featuring Group A from Britten Pears Arts

On a black background is the image of a colourful work of abstract art, with the words 'Back to Life, SSS, Suffolk Soul Singers, Back to Reality, LIVE Soul and Gospel Choir, Suffolk Soul Singers' around it.

Back to reality, back to the here and now…
We hope to bring some soul to your soul with our music!

Suffolk Soul Singers is a dynamic community choir, led by singer and musician, Andi Hopgood. There will be something for everyone in our offering of lively and timeless soul classics, upbeat gospel songs and contemporary hits with a soulful twist.

The choir is a registered charity and our recent video of I Can See Clearly launched their fundraising campaign for Our Streets Now, a charity dedicated to the rights of women and girls to feel safe in public spaces.

So let’s hope that the sun is shining, weather is sweet and you’ll be moving your dancing feet.

Suffolk Soul Singers are performing at the New Wolsey on:

  • Sunday 18 July, 1pm
  • Sunday 18 July, 4:30pm

The second performance will be preceded by the brilliant Group A from Britten Pears Arts, from 4:15pm!

Group A is a vocal group for 8-18s in Ipswich that rehearse and perform throughout the year. They work with a wide variety of professional musicians and explore a breadth of musical genres to create exciting and creative performances, in Ipswich and beyond!

For their performance at the New Wolsey they will be revisiting a song they wrote during lockdown as part of their online song writing project led by Gwyneth Herbert. The song, which will be kept as part of the Suffolk Archives, explores our town and sense of place, our lockdown experiences and reaching out to the future! As well as this we will also be performing a song with the Suffolk Soul Singers!

This show is free for everyone and you’re more than welcome to just turn up on the day – we can’t wait to see you!

All events as part of our ‘Swich programme will be carried out in accordance with the current government guidelines on Covid-19 on the date of the event.
