Two well-bred young men murder a fellow Oxford student just for the fun of it. Placing the corpse in a wooden box, they invite a group of friends over to their Mayfair apartment – including the loving mother of the boy they’ve just killed. Supper is served on the chest holding the gruesome contents. But one of their guests is starting to become suspicious…

Based on a 1920’s real life case, this dark classic, brilliantly evoking a jazz age generation, was filmed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1948 and remains to this day one of the most tightly coiled of thrillers.

This major revival from the producers of Made in Dagenham is directed by Queen’s Theatre’s Artistic Director Douglas Rintoul (The Crucible, Much Ado About Nothing).

James Sutton — Charles Granillo

James is best known for playing John Paul McQueen in Hollyoaks, a role he was thrice nominated for a British Soap Award in 2007 for and shortlisted for a National Television Award in 2007. In 2013, James launched BrokenLeg Workshops, his own pop-up acting company, based in Liverpool, designed to help new actors develop their skills in front of the camera.

Born from a French father and an Indian Mother, Nico is an active member, ambassador and course assistant for the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. Nico is also a theatre director, alumnus of the Young Vic 2017 Emerging Directors’ Springboard programme, whose credits include critically acclaimed sell-out run of Dead Souls at Theatre N16, as well as scratch performances at the Young Vic (Freshworks), the Blue Elephant and The Courtyard.
