Noughts & Crosses CPD - New Wolsey Theatre

Noughts & Crosses CPD

Performed on Wed 2 Nov

A black woman and a white man sit together in conversation, looking at each other. The main is holding a red book. At the top of the image the title Noughts & Crosses, and at the bottom the text CPD session.

For this in-person CPD session at New Wolsey Theatre, a Pilot Theatre artist will share practical approaches to teaching Sabrina Mahfouz’s adaptation of Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman. This edition of the play is a set-text for the Eduqas GCSE Drama syllabus and the novel is studied widely at Key Stage 3.

We will consider extracts from the playtext, explore the theatrical realisation of the production, and examine social justice issues related to its themes.

Aimed at Secondary School and Further Education teachers, this session would be most suited to those whose subject specialisms are Drama, English or PSHE, and who have an interest in using creativity in the classroom.
