Built from the legacy and vision of a great Ipswich surgeon, The Bartlet Convalescent Home was the much loved heart of community convalescent care for the East Suffolk Area from 1926 until 2008 when it was closed and the building
put up for sale.
This play traces the history of The Bartlet and the man behind the vision, through the eyes of those who were part of its life from the early days of Arthur Griffiths to the patients and their relatives, the medical practitioners and those who desperately fought to save it from closure.
