Ephemeral – Writers Week - New Wolsey Theatre

Ephemeral – Writers Week

Performed on Sat 25 Jun

White smoke curls upwards on a black background. The mint-coloured Wolsey Writers logo sits in the top-left corner and the image reads 'Wolsey Writers Take the Stage: 'Ephemeral.'

Do we notice the content we are consuming every day? After we’ve watched, read or listened to a piece of ephemera – do we give it a second thought? If it has a short shelf life, we probably don’t take it seriously. But perhaps we should. A song lyric, for example. A ticket. Or the events of a single day... Some ephemeral things last longer, and mean much more, than they were ever supposed to.

The Wolsey Writers invite you to join them for a unique event that celebrates local talent and the power of things that don’t last forever: Wolsey Writers Take the Stage!

Four short pieces of work selected as part of the ‘Ephemeral’ project will be performed as a book-in-hand reading by the New Wolsey’s resident Writers' Week Company of professional actors. See some of the best of local writing here first!

This event is part of Writers’ Week – an inspiring programme of readings and writing events, a true space for everyone interested in all things writing to come together and celebrate the power of words.

All the events are free of charge but we will be holding bucket collections throughout the week to raise money to support the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. So not only will you be getting involved in some thought-provoking and interesting events, but you’ll be supporting a humanitarian cause at the same time!
