Distant Drums Workshop: Music, Moves & Stories
Saturday 24th July 12.30pm-3pm
Distant Drums tells the story of Reggae Sound System culture and the importance of music in the fight for racial equality
Come along with your families to watch Distant Drums before heading off to our rehearsal room to throw yourself into music, moves and stories! Celebrate who you are, where you live and where you’re going with dancer and movement artist Rosy May, using your own ideas as inspired by the show! The Distant Drums performers will come and meet you towards the end of your workshop to watch what you’ve created.
Distant Drums performance: 12.30pm in Theatre Square - to watch with your responsible adult
Workshop straight afterwards: 12.45pm-3pm at NW2
The workshop offer is specifically interesting for children who would enjoy exploring roots and heritage through creativity. Please note that this not a drumming workshop.
Workshops are FREE but must be booked in advance as numbers are limited.
All of our workshops and activity will be delivered in line with the latest government guidance on covid-secure working.
