Backstage Secrets at the New Wolsey – Heritage Open Day

Come and peek behind the curtain at the New Wolsey Theatre on Sun 8 Sep and discover how the on stage magic is made with free backstage theatre tours!

If you’ve ever been sat watching a show and wondered how it all comes together, then this is for you. Find out what’s happening behind the scenes whilst you’re in your seat and ask us any burning questions you’ve always had.

Learn more about our vibrant history, explore shows of years gone by and find out more about how our famous Rock ‘n’ Roll pantomime became an Ipswich family tradition! See how shows are designed and then how we turn those concepts into the dazzling productions you watch on our stage.

The theatre will be open from 10am, with tours beginning at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30 and 13:30. Booking is not required – simply turn up and enjoy!

We’ll also have arts and crafts activities in our family-friendly foyer for the kids to enjoy (see image below), as well as hot and cold drinks and various food items served at our Café.
