Emerging Practitioners

11 Apr 2022

We’re looking for Young/Early Career Theatre Practitioners to work with Youth Theatres, Schools and Community Settings

Our Creative Communities Team offer opportunities for young people and communities to take part in activity that seeks to nurture creativity, develop skills, explore identity and promote diversity.

We work with many different settings across Suffolk and North Essex, delivering a range of diverse projects which always have artistic practice at their heart.

In 2020 we launched our Emerging Practitioner programme, which is designed to give opportunity to and support theatre practitioners who are in the early stages of their careers. The role is diverse and changeable, and seeks to both challenge and develop young artists through working with more experienced Lead Practitioners to plan and deliver workshops. Several of our previous Emerging Practitioners have been given opportunities as Lead Practitioners since joining us.

See the link below for more details on the work that we do:

We’d love to hear from you if you have an interest in or some experience in any of the below:

  • Workshop planning
  • Delivering workshops for young people aged between 7-20 years old, for early years participants and their families, and/ or for adults
  • Developing participant’s skills as theatre makers, and guiding them towards a performance
  • Developing participant’s confidence and aspiration
  • Creating inclusive and accessible spaces

We are particularly interested to receive applications for this role from people from Black, Asian and ethnically diverse backgrounds, those who identify as deaf and disabled people, and neurodiverse people.

We are happy to make all reasonable adjustments to enable applicants to participate in the selection process, and for the successful applicant(s) to carry out their role.
