Simon gained a degree in Stage Management and Technical Theatre from Guildhall School of Music and Drama and since then has worked extensively in the entertainments industry specialising in sound and lighting. He was Sound Designer on the New Wolsey’s premiere of Marc Bolan’s story 20th Century Boy, Jack and the Beanstalk, AladdinBeauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Dick Whittington, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Blues In The Night, Little Shop of Horrors and Bedroom Farce and on the New Wolsey/Graeae co-production Flower Girls. Most recently he has worked on the UK National Tour of the Madness musical Our House (A New Wolsey Theatre production), Mods and Rox (another world premiere at the New Wolsey Theatre), and Miss Nightingale which started at the New Wolsey and is in association with The Lowry, Salford Quays. Simon has been part of the sound team at the New Wolsey on other production including Company, Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood, The Good Companions, Private Lives andTravels with my Aunt. He designed sound for musical versions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Comedy of Errors and Romeo and Juliet (Stafford Gatehouse Theatre’s outdoor Shakespeare Festival), was Sound Designer for Mother Goose and Sound Designer for Dick Whittington (Stafford Gatehouse Theatre).

Recently he was also sound designer on The Nottingham Playhouse/UK Arts Tour of the reggae Musical, The Harder They Come.

He was also both Sound Designer and Operator for Talawa’s Anansi and the Magic Mirror which premiered at the Hackney Empire in 2009 and for Shadowball (Hackney Music Development Trust), and Sound Designer on Tiata Fahodzi’s The Estate when it premiered at the New Wolsey Theatre.
