John trained with the Sylvia Young Theatre School. John starred as Timon in The Lion King in the first ever tour of the UK and Ireland in 2012 and was delighted to return for a second year in the role, until August 2014.

John’s other theatre credits include The Railway Children (Middle Ground Theatre Company); Tarnished Angel ( Finborough Theatre); Pericles (Ludlow Festival); Brighton Beach Memoirs  (English Theatre); The Cub (Traverse Theatre);  Mirandolina, Forty Years On and Conversations With My Father (The Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough). He has also played Arty in Lost In Yonkers (The Mercury Colchester); the Artful Dodger in Oliver! (Crucible Theatre); Dandini in Cinderella (CityVarieties Leeds); Son of McDuff in Macbeth( RSC Barbican)  and Lampwick in Pinnochio (Arts Theatre).

Television work includes Mighty Hood, Invincible Bismarck,  Casualty, Renford Rejects,  Against All Odds,  Harry’s Mad II,  Doctor At The Top and T-Bag.

On Film he played Stephen in Breakout for The Children’s Film Foundation and was in Brazil! directed by Terry Gilliam.

On Radio, John played Will in With A Little Help From My Friends, Masher in Fairly Secret Agent , Stephen in Travelling Light and Auntie Mame, all for BBC Radio. He has
also recorded voices for many popular TV and film animations including Jim Hawkins in Treasure Island, Gargoyle in Mike the Knight, Toot in Toot the Tiny Tug and all the male
characters in CBeebies Get Squiggling. Most recently, he provided the voices of Thomas in Thomas & Friends, James and Arnold in Fireman Sam and Foz in Go Jetters.

As well as the above he has dubbed and recorded ADR on numerous films and television programmes such as Cloud Atlas, Storage 24, Arthur Christmas, High School Musical, Perfume, Gulliver’sTravels, The Tudors, Rome, Silent Witness, Wallander, Second Origin and many more.
