Jane is one of a growing number of performers who sing, act and play instruments. She has appeared in ground breaking actor – musician productions such as Return to the Forbidden Planet, From a Jack to a King and Craig Revel Horwood’s award-winning production Spend Spend Spend. Most recently she appeared at the Novello Theatre in Mamma Mia playing Rosie, a dynamo!
Her film credits include: The Life and Death of Peter Sellers and Puckoon and has appeared in numerous television documentaries and radio programmes about her father Spike.
She recently toured in The Blonde Bombshells of 1943 around the UK and Singapore. Her other work includes Theatr Clwyd in The Grapes of Wrath and Animal Farm, Stella in Three Steps to Heaven, at the Watford Palace, at the Basingstoke Haymarket she played Duffy in In the Midnight Hour, Rhetta Cupp in Pump Boys and Dinettes and Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors and has worked with Chris Bond as Lady Macbeth in Hubble Bubble and Sammy in Alice on the Underground.
Her work with Bob Carlton’s Cut to the Chase Theatre company includes: Mina in Ken Hill’s Dracula, Gwendolyn in The Importance of Being Earnest, Geraldine Barclay in What The Butler Saw, Hippy Chic in Keep on Running, Sandy in A Slice of Saturday Night, Mrs. Magee in Corpse, Smeraldina in The Servant of Two Masters, Jan in Ladies Day, Mrs. Wragg in A Murder has been Arranged and Pitti Sing in The Hot Mikado.
Jane has worked extensively in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Thailand both as a musical director and as a performer, most recently as the Narrator in The Ugly Duckling for The Singapore Repertory Company.
Jane has been a regular in the successful Actor/Musician Rock and Roll pantomimes, playing characters such as The Genie in Aladdin, Frederika in Sleeping Beauty, Bosun Bodgit in Dick Whittington and Vanity in Beauty and the Beast. Last summer Jane appeared at the Jermyn Street Theatre in Sunny Side of the Street written, devised and directed by Tim McArthur and Sarah Travis.
Among her other ‘triumphs’… appearing as Nanas the tenor sax- playing monkey! Drumming for Jane Horrocks’ all- girl band at The Royal Variety performance; Singing with Ricky Martin and Gabrielle at the Albert Hall; Mixing sound at Glastonbury Festival and recently playing the guitar with Woman – the band at The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall supporting Billy Ocean on his current tour.
Jane was a regular news pundit for LBC on Steve Allens Sunday Breakfast. For many years Jane has been involved with the fantastic, all Inclusive Chicken Shed Theatre Company.
After all that Jane is looking forward to spending the next year on a beautiful Greek Island!
