Ben has a BA Hons in Music from Leeds University and trained at Guildford School of Acting.
Ben has Musically Directed countless Rock ‘n’ Roll shows in the UK and around the world. For the last 20 years Ben has been working as Musical Director for the New Wolsey Theatre on productions including Never Lost at Home, One Man, Two Guvnors, Once, Oxy and the Morons, Our Blue Heaven, Mods and Rox, Little Shop of Horrors and many Rock ’n’ Roll pantos. He composed the music for the recent production of Trio and Midsummer Songs seen in 2014 at the New Wolsey.
He has also written music for plays at Nottingham Playhouse, Derby Playhouse, a score for a musical version of Two Gentlemen of Verona which had a successful run in Seoul, Korea, an original score for Macbeth for the Gale Theatre in Barbados and arranged music for many other productions nationwide. He recently MD’d and toured with The All Balls and Glitter Tour with Craig Revel Horwood. Ben orchestrated and supervised the National tours of Tom – a new musical about the life of Tom Jones – and Jackie The Musical, and MD’d Made in Dagenham and The Hired Man for the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch. He is a Musical Director for EastEnders and regularly enjoys playing piano in the Queen Vic.
