The New Wolsey Theatre are delighted to announce a brand new rock’n’roll pantomime for 2015-2016 – THE SWORD IN THE STONE – which will run from Thursday 26 November 2015 to Saturday 31 January 2016.
Written and directed by Artistic Director Peter Rowe, and performed in the New Wolsey Theatre’s traditional actor-musician style, this brand new take on the legendary tale of King Arthur mixes music and magic, swordplay and slapstick into a wicked festive brew with a classic rock n roll kick.
It’s the end of the war and the Barbarians have been beaten back! But now the time has come to unite the seven kingdoms together by crowning the bravest knight of all as the rightful King of all the Britons. Join Merlin, Guinevere, Kay and the stunning Dame Bernadette Broadbottom to discover just who pulled the sword from that stone!
With favourite tunes including: I’M GOING TO RAIN ON YOUR PARADE, YOU GOT THE LOVE, COME ON BABY LIGHT MY FIRE and BACKSTREETS BACK…It’s time to RULE THE WORLD!
Alongside this news, the team is also excited to announce a new sponsor for the rock’n’roll pantos – Ipswich Building Society. The company have kindly agreed to sponsor the New Wolsey’s sell-out panto for the next three years.
