Brand new Reconnect Workshops announced

It’s time to stop that boxset binge, forget social media and finally silence the screen. We’re thrilled to announce that this September and October we are hosting a range of exciting Reconnect workshops for young people aged between 9 – 16 years.

Take a look below to discover more about the workshops on offer throughout this Autumn.

Get Technical (ages 9-11yrs) – Saturday 19th September, 10am – 3pm

Discover the magic behind a stage show with our Get Technical workshop. Learn from our professional New Wolsey Theatre technicians about the elements of sound, lights and stage. This workshop is a great hands on experience as you’ll be actively taking part in activities.

Get Digital: Model Box Stories (ages 11-13yrs) – Saturday 26th September, 10am – 3pm

This is a workshop that will guarantee get your creative juices flowing. Team up with a mate from the workshops and devise a short story, and then design and build a model box theatre set to bring it to life! You’ll be creating sound effects, programming LED lights and using motors to create motion – and then share your story with the rest of the group at the end of the day. For any budding young theatre directors out there, this could be the workshop for you.

Get Creative: Devised Theatre & Spoken Word (ages 14-16yrs) – Saturday 3rd October, 10am – 3pm

This workshop will explore our experiences over the past few months through a range of physical and spoken theatrical devising techniques. Our practitioners will create a fun and inclusive environment where stories, experiences and ideas for the future can all be shared creatively.

All activities and workshops will be delivered in line with the latest government guidance on Covid-19 secure spaces and participation activities, so there’s no need to worry. We understand if you want to know a bit more about this, so there are FAQs available on the web pages for each session.
