Audiences enjoy our first Dementia Friendly Familiarisation Afternoon

22 Oct 2016 Uncategorized

On Sat 15 October, the New Wolsey Theatre held its very first Dementia Friendly Familiarisation and Reminiscence event before the matinee performance of Made In Dagenham. The event, run by the theatre’s Agent for Change Amy Nettleton, provided those living with Dementia and their familiar a chance to get to know the show and remember it’s 1960’s setting.

The event was attended by Ipswich’s Mayor Roger Fern, his consort and wife, and supported by the East of England Co-op and the Alzheimer’s Society.

The New Wolsey Theatre will be announcing more details of future events like this in the coming months. Stay tuned to the website and the social media channels for more ways to get involved.

If you would like to contact Amy directly about future events, and ideas on how our theatre can be even more accessible to our audiences and community, please email her at anettlon@wolseytheatre.co.uk
