A work-in-progress of fingersmiths’ exceptional storytelling style in British Sign Language and spoken English.

Presented by FINGERSMITHS

“We are our memories” - Gloria Winstanley has more than most - of love, loss and lust.

Set in WWII, War Crimes For The Home tells the story of women: their trials, achievements and relationships - told from two different perspectives - different generations.

3 actors (hearing and Deaf) tell the story of Gloria, who falls in love. We see the impact of war on men, how it affects relationships when returning from the front and how life affects the women left behind.

For Pulse 2015, their work-in-progress will share fingersmiths’ exceptional storytelling style in Bristish Sign Language and spoken English. In addition, working with Lindsey Butcher (Gravity & Levity), they will explore storytelling through body language, pushing our boundaries to add another physical layer to tell Gloria’s story.

Based on the novel by Liz Jensen
Originally adapted by Annie Pearson
With additional material by Shenagh Govan
Directed by Jeni Draper
Movement by Lindsey Butcher
Designed by Ken McClymont
