NEW WOLSEY YOUTH THEATREThe deadline for applications for the Spring season of Youth Theatre has been extended to Thursday 7th February 2008 with the 2 workshop sessions being Wednesday 13th and Wednesday 20th Feb at the New Wolsey Studio. Thank you to all of you who have already got their applications and please contact Debbie Cowley on dcowley@wolseytheatre.co.uk if you have any questions. The Youth Theatre was established to be culturally diverse and diverse in all areas within the age range of 14 -18 and we want to make a conscious effort to maintain this ideal and be accessible to as many young people as possible. We can offer an access worker for the duration of the sessions to encourage applications from independently minded young people with disabilities. To apply, email dcowley@wolseytheatre.co.uk. The deadline for receiving applications is Thursday 7th February 08. The ‘reason for being’ is to be a combined model of theatre (to provide access to drama and theatre processes) and youth arts (an overriding aim to support the personal and social development of young people) and this vision has changed the way we are structuring this season of Youth Theatre. We will be offering a series of workshops run by industry practitioners with follow up drama-led evaluation sessions incorporating the skills learnt. This exciting development period could form the basis of the Youth Theatre in years to come. This opportunity to work with leading theatrical professionals is both a rare and valuable experience. We are also very excited to welcome our new Associate Director of Creative Learning, Rob Salmon who comes to us from the Dukes Playhouse in Lancaster. He is extremely experienced in producing Youth Theatre and is looking forward to developing ours and bringing his immense enthusiasm for this industry into play and taking the Community & Education department to the next level. |
