JAYNE LAWLESS – NEW WOLSEY ARTIST IN RESIDENCEIn collaboration with architect Marta GazickaJayne Lawless, our Artist in Residence, unveils her dramatic installation on 6 March. Inspired by her time at the New Wolsey, the piece is a large tunnel structure which you will be able to walk through as you enter the foyer. The experience is designed to stimulate the imagination and to provoke a sense of wonder and anticipation as you prepare to see a live performance. “The aim of the work is to get the audience in the mood for the show, to stimulate them and prepare their minds to be carried off into the fantasy world of a stage show,” says Jayne. “Audience members will also have the opportunity to have their names displayed inside the tunnel, further shifting the focus on their importance to a show’s success.” The structure will be open from Tuesday 6 to Saturday 24 March.
