Young Theatre / Young Company Auditions

Thanks to everyone who came to the youth theatre auditions on Sunday.

Due to the bad weather experienced on Sunday we are holding more auditions on the following days:
Group 5 ( Years 10 & 11 ) on Weds 13/01/10 6pm -7pm.
Group 1 & 1 ( Years 3,4,5 & 6 ) Sat 16/01/10 12pm - 1pm
Groups 3 & 4 ( Years 7,8,9 % 10 ) Sat 16/01/10 2pm -3pm.
Young Company ( aged 16 - 24 ) Sun 17/01/10 4pm -6pm.

Our Junior Youth Theatre , Senior Youth Theatre and Young Company give over 120 children, young people and young adults the opportunity to gain new skills in all aspects of theatre making. The activities are designed to support the creative, personal and social development of the participants; or to put it simply we make plays, tell stories, make friends and learn loads…

JUNIOR YOUTH THEATRE
For primary school students aged 7 - 11 who want to learn more about theatre, make new friends and learn new skills;
GROUP 1: SCHOOL YEARS 3 + 4
Sat 10.30am – 11.30am
GROUP 2: SCHOOL YEARS 5 + 6
Sat 12.00noon – 01.15pm

SENIOR YOUTH THEATRE
For secondary school students aged 11 – 16 who want to develop their abilities as performers alongside a team of theatre professionals;
GROUP 3: SCHOOL YEARS 7 + 8
Tue 4.30pm – 6.00pm
GROUP 4: SCHOOL YEARS 9 + 10
Tue 6.30pm – 8.15pm
GROUP 5: SCHOOL YEARS 10 + 11
Wed 6.30pm – 9.00pm

YOUNG COMPANY
For Young Adults aged 16 – 25 who are really serious about making theatre and want to meet regularly to develop their experience and skills as theatre makers. The Young Company produces 3 productions in the Wolsey Studio with the support of the team here at the New Wolsey, uniquely every decision is made by you – from the choice of play, to the set, the costume, and what happens on stage. The first production in 2010 will be Woyzeck by George Buchner.

YOUNG COMPANY²
For Physically Disabled Young Adults aged 14 – 25 who want to develop their skills as performers, make theatre and explore their potential.
This group will work together to devise an original play for performance.

MEMBERSHIP FEES
It’s only £120 a year, £90 for a second child, and £60 if you are in receipt of Means Tested Benefits. Fees can be paid at the start of the year or can be paid in instalments. Bursaries are available. To reserve your place, contact:
