BSL (British Signed Language) for Deaf audiences and BSL users:
Click here to find out which performances in our current season are BSL interpreted.
During a British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreted performance an interpreter stands on or at the side of the stage, clearly visible to the audience, and interprets the spoken word and sound effects for Deaf patrons who use BSL. Ensure you tell the box office you are booking to use the interpreter and they will seat you appropriately.
“I thoroughly enjoy coming to the pantomime at Christmas – the atmosphere is brilliant and with the interpreter I can take in everything that is happening. I come every year as the shows are so good. I lost all my hearing 26 years ago and decided to learn sign language and prefer this for communication rather than lip reading – so with full access via the interpreter I am very happy especially as I can remember most of the songs!!!!!!!! Thank you for providing such a wonderful service.”

“My grandson is totally deaf and for the second year running we have taken him and his siblings to the Pantomime. He really enjoys this and the signing interpreter does such an excellent job single-handed. She has my greatest admiration and I'm sure this is a tremendous asset and is beneficial to Deaf and hard of hearing people. Without this being available at the theatre, many people would have to travel miles to find an excellent facility to this standard. We were unaware of this being available until pointed out by your front of house staff, for this we thank them.”
