Matt is the stage technician at the New Wolsey.
Up on the Roof is my first full in house production at the New Wolsey and so far I have very much enjoyed the challenges it has thrown up. From fitting the set into our odd shaped stage to doing massive scene changes every night.
After our twenty minute scene changes from opening night me and Dave G have managed to get the scene changes down to ten minutes. We think we can get them even faster than that, which would be awesome!
After every show we have a few little things to do to clean up the set, namely me cleaning up the water from the fountain using something I’ve never seen before they’re called Pig Socks. Really good at soaking up all the water, really quickly! Even if they do stink the scene dock out a bit!
We have just completed our quickest 1st interval change, nine minutes and thirty seconds! One more change to go then put it all back together tomorrow afternoon!
