Hello Ipswich!
Well here I am in the Production office, backstage, ready to do show number 9. I'd better get a move on, I've just had the 15 minute call.
We've been welcomed to the theatre with open arms, and the audiences have really enjoyed the show from all accounts- in both numbers and response.
It's been interesting moving the show from Oldham Coliseum to Ipswich, and hear how different audiences respond to different things. As Ken Dodd once said "You can tell a joke in Glasgow, and they won't laugh at it in London..........They can't hear it."
The show itself has been an interesting one to be a part of in other ways, as it reflects on the ten years since graduation. The majority of the cast are all around the age or the characters at the end of the show, and it has brought back many personal memories of student life. Reminding me of those dreams and aspirations we all spoke about, and comparing them to the life we are all living now- ten years on. It's helpful to look back on what you have achieved and what you would still like to do. I think this is a huge appeal for our audience also.
Who knows where we'll be ten years from now. We shall see.
Thank you Ipswich and The Wolsey. Here's to the next one!
Take care
Stephen
