Jack and the Beanstalk, sponsored by Turnstone Estates, is this year’s rock ‘n’ roll panto at the New Wolsey Theatre and it goes on sale on Monday 26 April at 10am.
Times are hard in the rustic Suffolk village of Much-Piddling-in-the-Marsh. The Giant Blunderbore stalks the land and his slimy sidekick Fleshcreep is forcing Squire Snuffbox to kick Dame Dolly Durden off the family farm. But when Jack sells dear old Bessie the cow for a handful of magic beans, the family fortunes start to look up. Will Fairy Aubergine defeat the evil Fleshcreep? Will Jack beat the Giant and marry his sweetheart Jill? Will Dame Dolly get up the beanstalk in that extraordinary outfit?
With Hit The Road Jack, Reach Out, I’ll Be There, You To Me Are Everything, Sweetest Feeling and many more hit songs, brought to you live by our multi-talented cast of actor-musicians it can only be the famous New Wolsey Theatre rock ‘n’ roll pantomime – this year it’s GIANT SIZE.
“Jack and the Beanstalk is a classic panto tale,” says director Peter Rowe. “It has all the right elements, lovable Jack, his mum Dame Dolly Durden, the Giant and his sidekick… and of course a whole host of farm animals. It’s a wonderful tale which lends itself particularly well to the rock ‘n’ roll format.”
This year the number of £8.50 tickets has been doubled and early booking is advised, particularly to secure tickets in this price band. Discounts and concessions are available and don’t forget that group rates are available for off-peak performances:

The New Wolsey’s Christmas show for ages 2 to 7 also goes on sale on Monday 26 April. This year it’s The 3 Pigs by Stuff & Nonsense Theatre Company, described by The Stage as “one of the most delightful ways to while away 50 minutes”. Performances are at 11am and 2pm each day from 7 to 31 December and tickets are just £6.50.
