This is my final blog post from The New Wolsey as I’m moving ‘over the border’ in February to take up the post of Creative Programme Manager at the Writers’ Centre Norwich . This is a move I’m very excited about as I passionately believe in the power of words to change lives, increase understanding and raise aspirations.
Theatre can also change lives; the act of sitting in a darkened space with a set of complete strangers watching stories being spun in the unique three-dimensional world of theatre weaves its own special kind of magic. And it’s a magic that, at its best, creates images and imagined lives that are burned into our memories for years to come.
One of the greatest challenges for us in the Marketing Department of The New Wolsey is knowing how best to communicate to you the extremely electic mix of performances that take place at the theatre and all the other ways you can get involved; for instance as participants in our expanding Creative Learning programme.
So, I would like to end this farewell blog by asking you to let us know how you would like the New Wolsey blog to develop. Would you like it to come from one particular person at the theatre? Perhaps you would like to hear from lots of different people who work at the theatre so that you get a rounded view of how the theatre works. Or maybe you’d like us to adopt a ‘character’ for our blog – one arts centre that shall remain nameless has its blogs posted by a cat, and very popular they are too! Please let us know by posting a comment.
Meanwhile, I’m just getting my things together for the move to Norwich. Now, where did I leave my passport?

I think it would be cool if you could do things like video blogs as well as written ones. You know - maybe a tour of backstage or the latest set as part of a video - I would certainly watch it!!!!
